A Plenary meeting under the funded by program “Horizon 2020” project “TRINITY” is held on 6 and 7 April 2022 in Sofia

The event was officially opened by the Deputy Minister of energy Mr. Danail Nikolov and the Executive Director of the Electricity System Operator Mr. Angelin Tsachev.

Angelin Tsachev underlined in his greeting words the importance of the „TRINITY” project as one of the tenth projects with ESO’s participation, financed by the European program for science research and innovations “Horizon 2020”.

„The project is of significant importance because it will support the processes of electricity market unification in Southeast Europe, their inclusion into the common European market and it will answer to the challenges related to the changing market model stemming from the Green Deal“, added ESO Executive

19-th science organizations and companies from 11 countries participate in the project, including six transmission system operators from Bulgaria, Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and France, as well as four stock exchange operators from Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro and Hungary.

The project strengthens the stronger entry of clean energy and encompasses the development of four main products:

• T-MARKET COUPLING FRAMEWORK TRINITY - a framework for strengthening the cross-border cooperation and ensuring the unification of the electricity marketя in Southeast Europe and their incorporation into the common European market;

• T-SENTINEL TOOLSET TRINITY - a regional set of tools for management and operation of existing regional processes and coordinated actions related to increasing network security, optimizing re-dispatch activities, counter-trade, corrective actions at regional level;

• T-RES CONTROL CENTER - optimization of the management and operation of installations for energy production from renewable sources in the region and facilitation of their participation in the various electricity markets;

• T-COORDINATION PLATFORM - for improvement of the co-operation between the Security Coordination Center and the transmission system operators.

The project activities are currently on the stage of „testing, demonstration and integration“. In the both days of the meeting the participants show the four developed projects and provide access to the platforms of the
